But it has a 2MB cap, their £5 package have a 5MB cap

Anyone?

You say that you have downloaded it but have you installed it? Once installed, to can check the box "Load on Windows Start up" on the General page of the Options. To read it, right click on the two triangles symbol in your system tray and click on Totals.

Assuming that you have specified that NetMeter will load at windows startup so that it will catch all internet activity, open the totals display and then click on the projected tab. This will show your projected usage based on your usage to date.

    UL + DL = Upload + DownLoad.

Some ISP's measure your total UL + DL and others only measure your DL.

1 Gigabyte is equal to one billion (1,073,741,824) bytes or 1024 megabytes.
