    Amex don't hide this. As it says on their web site, "Cashback is earned on virtually every full pound spend per transaction".

    It's only large if you buy lots of small items
    e.g. if you continually buy £1.99 sandwhiches then it will be halved.

    You need to use large amounts or item with low pence figures to get the best deal.

    It's a bit annoying but still the best deal around by a country mile.
