ok i have an account with buy as you view, and i believe i have been missold warrentys and insurances on the products, i bought a tv 3 years ago and it was almost paid off when i got a bed from them, now i worked out what the new payment should be myself this time and when the quoted me a higher figure i thought i must have worked it out wrong, a couple of months after i phoned them to query my account and they said the payment prices were also subject to warrenties and insurance that covered things like theft of the items or accidental damage now i would never have taken this out as i have my own home insurance to cover these things, i was never informed i would be purchasing these things but looking back at credit aggrements they are on there but its not very clear do i have a case to claim these back? i have been paying about an extra 6 quid a week for like 4 years which would be like 1200 for these covers i didnt know about or need.

    cheers garry

In a letter I have recieved off them ,they state the terms and conditions of the warranty were clear .I see nowhere on these agreements where it clearly states about cancelling the warranty ,only my rights to terminate the agreement and return the goods . Also it states the terms and conditions of the voucher agreements were clear ,I must be blind then . Also it does not state anywhere what this warranty they sell actually covers .I have a maintenance voucher here and nowhere on there does it state any of this information .
  • I am also a bay view customer. I rang them a few months ago to see why I was still paying so much money when the sofa I originally had should have been paid off. I was told that when I took out a second purchase of a laptop my original loan for the sofa was added on and a new policy started. I wasn't aware of this. This wasn't explained to me.when I asked to cancel insurance and breakdown cover non of which I asked for and non of which were explained. I was told they can't cancel either. What csn I do?
