Tesco took the money for cancelled shopping

I am so angry to-day - I did a tesco order to be delivered on Tues p.m. and we had a phone call to say would not be delivered till Wed am - well we work but hubby stayed at home to receive it - did not come - phoned and complained and was offered afternoon slot no use we work - realised by now that my shopping was sitting in bags ready so decided I did not wish to have it and cancelled it. Discovered to-day they had taken the money yesterday for the shopping confirming that my shopping had indeed been done on Tuesday p.m. and was duly sitting in bags (fruit and veg too) and they now say they cannot refund till to-day or tomorrow and it takes 3 - 5 days to go back to my bank - this I cannot believe and am sooooooooooooooooo angry
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j

Was it to a debit card or credit card? Have you tried contacting your card issuer for a chargeback? Though not sure they will get the money back any quicker but its worth a go to see what they say!Weight Loss - 102lb0

Banks will not chargeback if the merchant has offered a refund.
If after the 5 days it does not go back, then bank could perhaps be involved.0 -
But what if the merchant has offered a refund and hasnt got on with it - it would be very easy for the company to say well we offered a refund and get the chargeback stoppedWeight Loss - 102lb0

The fact that Tesco has offered a refund and it will be credited within 3-5 days is enough for the bank to tell you they will not issue a chargeback.
If the refund doesnt happen, only then will the bank be slightly interested.0 -
Eventually got hold of the duty manager who has tried to do his best and refund the money to-day - will check tomorrow online as at present its not showing - he tried to tell me all the fresh food would have been changed for new but I am still not convinced so I was glad I went shopping last night myself for freshness. I am still angry with them as I think I sign for point of sale is point of delivery and then the money comes off - not at my tesco anyway!Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

I would write a complaint regardless- they might even offer a goodwill gesture, but please make sure to praise the manager who is trying to get you refunded as quick as possible
showing appreciation will often help when the cust service peeps decide on how to handle something.
