How to terminate a contract early
Options
Hi,
I would like to terminate my Vodafone contract early as I have had so many customer service issues it is making me want to tear my hair out, but I don't want a massive bill as I still have approx 6 months left.
Basically Vodafone can't get their act together and send me a bill. So every month I have to email or ring them to tell them they need to send me a bill. They have actually cut me off once because I didn't pay the bill they never sent me. I can't understand what is going on, they have my account set up for paper billing (there is an issue with their system that means I can't view them online, grrr, this is where it all started).
Is there anything I can do as this has been going on six months now and I am wasting my time and energy getting nowhere. On top of this for the last three months they have charges me £10/month for mobile TV that I never requested.
I have started the complaints procedure, but does anyone know if I am within my rights to have to contract terminated? I almost want to not tell them next time it happens, let them cut me off again and just refuse to pay.
On a separate note, I had phone insurance and lost my phone at Christmas. The insurance company wanted me to request that the phone be barred by Vodafone, which I did. However Vodafone only barred the SIM, not the handset itself, so my claim has been refused. Any suggestions on where I stand here? I have currently told Vodafone I think they are liable as they didn't bar the handset, but am also appealing the insurance company's decision based on that fact it wasn't my fault the phone wasn't barred.
As you can see I have had some great times over the last couple of months with my phone and I just want it all to end, so please, any help would be great!!
Thanks!
Linnz
Note: Vodafone reps don't bother replying, I am already in touch with your complaints dept.

Sorry you are unlikely to get it cancelled at this stage, Once the complaint goes through you may have a chance as a goodwill gesture, but you are being provided with a service at the moment there is no reason to cancel. (Frustrations does not count...)
Why did you not pay by direct debbit and solve the problem, you may not get a bill but it would get paid, although you risk a big bill you do not know about at some point. If you don't pay it will be sent the debt collection department and on to debt collectors eventually. Is it worth risking your credit record over that?
The lost / Stolen handset is not relevent to this case, it not related to the airtime contract.
Good luck sorting it out,m put everything in writing and send it to them signed for that way you have it in writing and can refer back to it, phone calls cannot be so easily traced later on.0 -
Thanks for the response. I cancelled by Direct Debit because I didn't want anything being taken out of my account without me knowing about it first.
I know the lost handset is not relevant, it is a separate issue I wanted advice on.
Thanks
