Can I freeze houmous

I've frozen it before and it's been fine, it did look a bit darker, but tasted the same.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Yep. Frozen all kinds and it tastes just the same and didn't separate when defrosted.0

Hi Lowesy:hello::D
I have added your thread to the existing one on freezing hoummous so we keep the ideas together
Have you ever tried making your own? There is a whole thread with recipes here , and I have successfully made it several times. Much nicer (and cheaper) than shop bought to be honest! I make up two tins at a time and freeze in little portions. Yum.
Thanks:)

Hi there,
I have loads of lemons and need to use them up. One of the things I could make is a big batch of houmous as I have everything else but I'm not sure if it will defrost ok once frozen.
Have any of you successfully frozen houmous?
Cheers

Sorry I've never tried - although personally I'd give it a go! If you're not convinced there is no reason you can't freeze lemons in different ways - the juice in an icecube tray, slices to go direct into a g & t, the zest to go direct into whatever recipe calls for it.0

Wow! Superfast response ubamother, thanks! I will end up needing to use some of the lemons for something else even if I do freeze some houmous as I've got about 6 lemons to use up so thanks for the other suggestions.Tess x
