I had a cone biopsy and the nurse said to me at the time that if I got pregnant in the future to let the midwife and docs know (incase they missed it on my file) as natural birth could cause probs. Don't matter now though as I have no cervix. The cone biopsy was huge, hubby said it was as big as the end of his little finger (to the first knuckle):heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. Hi there. Hard to believe so many of us have had similar procedures. After a routine smear about 12 years ago (at 24) abnormal, pre-cancerous cells showed up so I was referred for a colcoscopy. It really is pretty quick and pain free and I had a lovely nurse there holding my hand. I had to have a biopsy and then heat treatment and the only thing I remember about that was the !!!!! of the consultant telling me I should hurry up and have children, certainly before I was 30. (Still no joy there but that's totally unrelated!) Anyway yearly smears for about 7 years - my choice after 5 - and then back to 3 yearly. Don't worry, it's a doddle.0

It was most likely well meant. The op I had to remove my cervix has only been available for about 14 years and is in the interests of preserving fertility. Without it I would have definately had a hysterectomy. Maybe they didn't put it to you as well as they could have but I sometimes think doctors and such get a bit de-sensitised to it all as they see it everyday, saying that, all the people I have come into contact with have been excellent.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with.
