Ive recently moved into a property with Superdeal tarriff from Scottish and Southern energy and wanted to know if other suppliers support the same meters etc.

We have two meters - one with 3 readings on it and a standalone white meter which has just one.

There are storage heaters in the property which along with the hot water tank run on the cheaper electric.

Does anyone know what the costs of the units should be and also if im able to go to another supplier who does it cheaper?

Thanks in advance!

You'll be lucky to get any other supplier to accept you on that type of tariff.

You'll need to contact SSE to ask them what your rates are. I don't think they publish them as the tariff is not generally available to new customers,

You can just switch to a 2 rate tarriff, ie E7, and the 5th terminal of the mtr, ie off peak will control the heaters and water, as the 2 connections that go in to the meter at the moment for storage heaters and water, will just be brought together into a block and made as one into the new meter.

wrong wrong wrong, in theory you are right but in actual practice the companies will not accept an E10 meter other than what the call a best fit tariff.

The only way to work it out is with your actual real consumption figures

    3 rate meter
eg if you use 1000 on top up day time,,,, 3000 on other daytime usage
    6000 on night time

then get a comparison based on 4000 daytime 6000night for Economy 7 = 2 rate meter
and 10000 day usage = 1 rate meter

if the figures work to your advantage with a different tariff (meter type), ask your existing supplier to swap your meter to the type that best suits, eg 1 rate or 2 rate. then once the meter is changed out, it is now very much easier to change supplier.

note:- the advantage might not seem immediately obvious however, once away from E10 many other much cheaper online tariffs will become available.

be careful, your individual circumstances, more than most other peoples are more difficult to give an accurate answer.

Sounds like a Heatwise/Comfort Plus type setup, changing suppliers will be difficult if not impossible.

Gurn is right, the system can be converted to Eco7, but this can prohibit the way the heating works and work out more expensive.

There is nothing wrong wrong wrong wrong in anything i have said at all.
I do this occasionally at the customers request to have there off peak and water on the same rate, and day time on the normal rate, ie a 2 rate E7 tarriff.
