123-reg account due to expire -forced renewal

My OH has a couple of domain names which he originally bought via 123-reg (yes I know but he doesn't listen and won't be told. ) He recently got an auto reminder from 123 that these are due to expire in two weeks time. He went on line to check out the details, not being sure if he wanted to renew one of them but he could not get access. Instead he got an automated response saying he could not look at the account details because he did not have a valid credit card on line.
He can't recall how he paid originally but decided anyway to enter a current credit card number to view his account. This returned a message that his URLs would be auto renewed with the new card. So he cancelled the auto renew option, and was bounced back to the original message (could not look at account etc without valid card on line). When he tried to select the option "no credit card" same thing happened.

I am with 123 reg for some domains, and have been for a while. I don't have any cards at all registered with them (neither debit or credit) and can view my account fine. There is a tick box to select to autorenew domains, and I have simply unticked it to stop them renewing ones I no longer want...Support have been brilliant whenever I've needed them too.
Has he tried contacting them? He seems to be on a completely different system to me...Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
He had no problems until this week - He just logged in and tried to access his accounts using his normal password when he got the auto response described above. When did you last view your account and what pathway did you take. Maybe he has got in a muddle? Or maybe they have changed the system.0
