Dispatch Time.

I sold afew things lastnight, and afew things today to Ebay.

On the listing I said it will be dispatched within 4 working days.

The thing is it would be hard to get down to the post office (as I have sprained my ankle) but a family member could post them on friday morning for me.

I was just wondering how people would feel having won an auction and having to wait the full 4 days for it to be sent out and would you leave poor feedback or stars for it?

I actully feel abit guilty making them wait so may get a taxi there or something.

why not message them and explain?
although it wouldn't bother me in the slightest as that is what you have stated

Even if it doesn't bother people I think your stars will suffer. The default setting for despatch is 2 working days so you are already allowing double that by making your settings 4 working days. However, it is up to the buyers to make sure they are happy to buy from a slow shipper before they bid, but we all know in practice it doesn't work like that and they will be knocing back your stars regardless.

A lot of ebay buyers even though you have it stated in your auction think 4 days is a long time (I know it isn't) I would email your buyers and inform them of your problem. At least it will stop them getting frustrated. Communication is always good

People expect their goods immediately, I ship same or next day and still can't get my despatch stars above 4.9, on a couple of occasions it has even slipped to 4.8.

if I bid on an auction that stated 4 day dispatch I would expect it after 4 days

There was a poster on here the other day who stated

Items I buy the feedback depends solely on date they were posted, posted within 2 days of sale they get a positive, upto 4 days gets them a neutral, 5 days or over is a clear negative

So yes people are that petty

to be honest if i was the buyer it would be nice to get an email giving a reason for late dispatch.

people are very odd when giving stars, i always undercharge postage but still only get 4.9 on p&p charges, and like soolin, either post that day or the very next, and again only have 4.9..

Ill email them and let them know.

I will also tell them I'll send the items first class instead of the 2nd class I listed in the auction as a way of an apology.

Peeps running Ebay and Amazon shop are under pressure to offer the same level of service as the 'big boys'. I aim to despatch next working day which, due to work pressure, sometimes means not getting a CoP and just dropping into a post-box.
