Guaranteed Mobile Contract sites

There's quite a few of these 'guaranteed acceptance' sites for mobiles but I'm wondering what experience anyone has had of them. Who should be avoided at all costs, who are ok and who stand out as being good at what they do?
I've started a new job where I need access to my emails on the move but can't afford to buy a smart phone outright, was stupid with my credit status when depressed and of course that impacts me now. So my only route is a guaranteed acceptance contract but I don't want to be entering personal details on what could be 'blag' sites harvesting data.
