Good Afternoon,

Just looking for some advice really.

I have just received a letter from Black Horse with regards to my PPI reclaim with them stating that they have upheld my claim and will pay me back all premiums plus 8% interest but they have not given a figure of what that will be. They are asking me to sign the form accepting this and send it back to them. After speaking to them they have told me that they do not collate the figures untill i have accepted and that once they receive my acceptance form they have 10 weeks to repay the money.

My question is whether this is standard practice as they have already take 10 weeks to send me this letter upholding the complaint which means it will take up to 20 weeks in total to settle.

Is this correct? and if not not what can i do about it.?

Would be grateful for any advice on this one.

    Regards

    Paul

    Good Morning,

    Just an update.

Received a cheque this morning from Black Horse finance for refund of PPI for £1464.63 so very happy.

After there initial letter stating they would take 8 weeks to refund me they have actually refunded in just over 2 weeks from when i sent acceptance back to them. I actually sent an email last Thursday to there complaints department asking for an expalnation for the 8 week time frame they originally quoted it would take for the refund and also copied in the chief executive of Lloyds Eric Daniels. As to whether that had any bearing on the fact i received my check 3 days later i dont know but either way im happy the money is back in my pocket.

    Regards

    Paul:)

Hopefully yours will arrive in the next 2 weeks or so. I think they must quote the 8 weeks just to cover themselves when the actual response time is actually a lot less. If you have not received your cheque in a fortnight i would chase them up.

    Good Luck

    Hi Paul

Hope you don't mind me asking was your loan over £5,000 to receive a good rebate as I have found it so difficult to try and work out approximate rebate.

    Hi,

My initial loan was for £4000 and the ppi was £900 making the total loan £4900 over 48 mnths. The monthly repayments were £149.30 of which £27.65 was for the ppi and the balance went towards the loan.

I paid the loan off after 21 mnths therefore i had paid 21 x £27.65 and also there was an early settlement figure on the ppi which worked out at £425. The balance of the settlement figure is the 8% statutory interst per annum going back to 2004/2005.

The apr on this loan was a ridiculous 23.9%.

I hope this helps you work yours out.

    Regards

    Hi Paul

    Regards

    Paul

My loan was for £8350 plus £2084 PPI at 36.80 per month, iswas single premium so interest added monthly total loan £10,400 but paid off after 12 months, early settlement figure £9465. Rebate off loan and ppi of £1073. I was thinking that they give you the difference of loan calculated without ppi for settlement so effectively my settlement figure with monthly payments of £180 would also come off is that about right? then interest added, I hope to get at least £1000. The APR on loan was 11.9% and 11.9% on PPI so they tell me.

    Hiya

I think with them being part of Lloyds you could email customer service with these and they may take you to the dept who deals with your case.
    customer.care.insurance@lloydstsb.co.uk

Good luck, I understand they all have backlogs due to the large volumes, but keep at them.;)
