Broken emachine - help please

This is a comon fault with emachines if you look inside is the power suppy made by Bestek , if so the power supply would have blown and 9 times out of 10 the motherboard too ...If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anywaySarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them

Doesnt the board have a light on it to show when it's getting power?
My Asus board does, and I was under the impression that a lot of manufacturers did this now. It lights as long as the switch on the back of the power supply is turned on (and the unit is plugged in).
So if theres an LED on the board somewhere, thatll help you determine whether the PSU has gone or not.
Or, take a bit of wire and short the following pins on the PSU connector to see if the PSU is dead or not ( PS_ON and COM ).
