does any body know.....
I flip in and out of the site all day long.
when i arrive i click on 'new posts' and can see all of the posts since my last log in.
when i have finished looking through the list and entering and reading some, i then click 'mark all as read', en i do that it resets my login time to now, ie i log in at 2pm, last log int at 12pm, view all new posts, at 2:20pm i then click 'mark all as read'
my log in time changes from 2pm to 2:20 pm, then if i click new posts, it onyl shows new posts from 2:20pm.......
just had a thought, that i could open two windows, window one list new posts, window two makr all as read.
but this wont work if there are more than one page of new posts....
any ideas peeps..... otherwise I am bound to be missing the bestist ones.....

I noticed that .......your last visited time seems to be the time you mark all boards as read ............it must be linked to that as it just did the same for me ,but you won't miss any posts because the next time you go to new posts all the ones not marked are there...........hth
if yours doesn't set to the correct time then it must be a glitch on yours as mine always matches the site time when I click mark all as read .................
e-mail webby hopefully he can help0 -

but what about the new posts between - the list of new posts and the time stamp of the system when i click 'mark all posts read'
I knoiw there are some, cos when i refresh the main chat forum screen, i can see new posts with a time stamp between my most recent login time and the timestamp from when i clicked 'mark all posts read'
i think i will email webby........smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

not sure I understand
do you mean you want to be able to see all recent posts, irrespective of when you logged in or whether you've marked as read?
Before you login, there is no 'new posts' option , just 'todays posts'
After you login, the option disappears but the url still seems tp works. You could bookmark that:

i have the cookie enabled, so i am logged in automatically, so i dont see that option.
if you do new posts, the latest one is at the top and you login timestamp is 15:00, if after scanning through all the new posts, you click 'mark all threads as read'
your login timestamp changes to now ie 15:20
if you then click 'new posts' again, you will only see new posts posted since 15:20
if there are any new posts between 15:00 and 15:20, you wont see them.
(this still sounds confusing, even having written it a second time)

I see what you mean now.
I think the only way around it would be to bookmark the link I gave above which shows today's posts0 -

will post there reply.... if they reply
now I understand what you mean .......if you go into new posts then lok at them when you go back in it updates all the time so ............lets say you look at one from the arms then go back to the list at the top will be any new ones already added onto the first page ...............when you read them they go light in colour .......all the dark ones haven't been read
with me so far
so when you eventually click mark all as read there won't be any missing............................you just didn't check the first page for those new ones that have been added while you've been reading
does that make sense0 -
Your better off mot using that way and going to individual forums ,where you can read new posts then mark that individual forum as read ........I find that a lot easier0
-
so if i left my screen on new posts, go through them to the end (say 3 pages), if i go back to page one all of the ones that have been added since i asked for the new posting list will be there as well......
thats blooming clever....... i'm impressed
edit:
mmmmm not quite.....
i have just updated this thread, at 03:35, i marked all as read at 03:36, my login time changed to 03:35, when i then clicked 'new posts' my posting from 3:35 doesnt show...smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
