you also need a license to ask for donations of textiles etc too,

the license works in the same way as asking for money door to door, you have to say what % of the overall money made by the textiles goes to the charity,

Then this is already covered by some sort of legislation, a petition to the PM seems pointless and I cannot see this problem being high on any political party's agenda.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • There's always the option to report it to the Association of Charity Shops who are really cracking down on this!

I've heard some of the proper charities saying that bogus collectors often go out early to pick up bags that have been left out in good faith for the charities.

around by us, they are even copying the genuine charity bags/leaflets and putting them out.

I allways say to people if they want to donate their clothes to charity, take htem into the shop, as then you know they will get the money from the sale of them, whether they sell them in the shop, or sell them to rag merchants.

yes i know it isnt an urgency...so i do appreciate your comments...and totally understand...

Unfortunately this DOES happen quite a lot - especially in areas close to docks!
