a friend has started a petition to no 10, regarding bogus door to door charity collections of textiles etc.
these unauthorised bogus are putting a cloud of dought over all door to door collections, and also the textile recycling industry in general.
I was just wondering if you are fed up with the bogus charity bags etc coming through your door, if you might consider signing the petition please.
we would really appreciate it....

There is already a law on charity collections, so I am not sure what a pettition would do. You may as well petition against murder.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

yes there is a law against it, but its totally being flaunted, you suposed to get a license from the local council etc, but its not happening.

Is that anything like a successful business?
Just teasing.
Just FYI, there are browsers about with built-in spellcheckers0 -
A licence is only required if they are collecting money door to door. Anyone is free to put a bag through the door asking for goods. The offence would arise where the literature with it falsely represnets where the goods are going, or omits to mention how much the charity will receive from the goods.
Its down to educating people about what to look for, to report bags which do not comply and to throw the bags away if they are not sure.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -

you also need a license to ask for donations of textiles etc too,
the license works in the same way as asking for money door to door, you have to say what % of the overall money made by the textiles goes to the charity,Work to live= not live to work0 -
I hope the Prime Minister has rather more important things to worry about than bogus charity collections.
If there's a particular problem in your area why not get the local council to take action?loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
