Hopefully someone with ore experiance will be along but it does sound strange that she has left the kittens, have you checked them?have you tried putting her back with the kittens? ithink you should contact a vet the mum may have something wrong such as kitten still inside her.If she has rejected the kittens it is possible to hand rear kittens but very hard workbut i am sure the vet will advise.0 -
I spoke to the vet earlier and he said to try putting them all in a cage, so she has to stay with them. But when we opened the cage to feed her, she moved them all back under the bed. I didn't touch the babies just moved the box. shes basically ignored them since this morning. she just wont stop crying. and doesn't want to be on her own.0

It doesn't sound good, were they only born today? If it was me I'd be keeping her with the babies, surely they'll die soon if she's not feeding them. I hope someone alse comes along soon with some help...

They were born last night. It was a cat I rehomed and was pregnant when I got it unknowingly.0

;( I'm scouring the web now - but the advice isn't really very helpful...did she take any notice of them when they were born??? Lots of websites are saying you need to keep the babies warm...

I think she's probably OK if she stayed with them last night and she's moving them around - she obviously knows they're hers...
Is she hungry? Is she producing milk? Maybe she does have one stuck? I'd take mom and the babies to the vet in the morning unless someone can give you more help...Save me from spending...

This is more helpful....looks like moving the babies is normal - but maybe you should make her a big warm box up to make sure the babies are kept warm - you could put it under the bed?!?!
Maybe she wants to be with you and is meowing as she's a first time mum and wants some comfort?Save me from spending...

By the way, I've got no idea about newborn kittens - and would be a jibbering wreck - as i'm a total worrier at the best of times
