RBS and Natwest are linked together, so if you owe RBS money they will see that when you apply for a Natwest account the applications go through the same team called the Account Verification Team which checks if you owe money across the "Group"

I owed Natwest money from when i was a student. I tried a few months ago to open and RBS Key account, they sent me a very stern letter telling me I should look for services "outside of the RBS group which includes Natwest"

wow thats not what my sister got natwest were more than happy to open an account for her she has missed a couple of payments to her rbs cards over the last year she found them very helpful

G8EKS never said he hasnt been paying what he owes rbs and i was just giving options

you were turned down because you didnt pay back a debt just oweing money like i said doesnt stop you getting an account
by the way is it more than 6 years since you last paid/made contact about your debt because they may start chasing you for it again as youve given them your info now but if its past 6 years it will be statue barred
