Better broadband ?

Hi
I have been a satisfied customer of Madasafish broadband for the last four years but am reviewing this. Last week I exceeded my monthly 5 Gb download limit and was charged £2 for this.
My monthly bill is £17.99 But as said I have been happy with the up timeservice and signal over that period.
Am I mad to consider moving?
If not which providers would be worth looking at?
Thanks

If you only use 6GB a month - why not consider Plusnet Value - which depending on your area could be as low as £5.99 or £11.99.

Both Madasafish and Plusnet are now owed by BT. Plusnet was an independent just like Madasafish before being bought out and both have kept their good reputation and quality of service.

Look at your LLU options, these will be the cheapest deals.
£18 a month for a 5GB service is very expensive even if no LLU options are available.
I would also suggest Plusnet Value if not LLU-that will save you £72pa, and you'll double your download limit.

I had talktalk for 40gb at 10mbs for £18...you should definitely consider moving...

Obviously you still have the line rental but it is far superior if you are a heavy user like me :)

Go to https://www.samknows.com as already advised, do an exchange search. Your LLU options are listed under ''LLU Operator Presence'.

That's interesting - I seem to remember reading that Plusnet was voted as the most reliable ISP and best for customer service. Nice to read hear that they have maintained their quality of service after moving to BT.

I have just moved into a new flat and am looking to find the benefits and perils of installing Virgin Media cable direct as opposed to installing a BT line and broadband service. That's given me food for thought.

Plusnet is owned by BT but managed independently. Long may that continue.

Maybe worth contacting madasafish and say you are considering moving and ask what they can do

I did this with maaf a couple of years ago when Samara the maaf rep was on these boards and was offered the 20GB download package for £17.99, i was on the same package as yourself at the time (5GB) and kept going over my usage allowance.

In fact I might be contacting them again as a friend of mine who I refered to maaf a few years ago recently got the 20gb package for about £14 after being on the 5GB deal.

I don't know if maff are as flexible as they used to and have heard a few reports that they are not bothered about keeping existing customers but it is certainly worth asking.
