Here's a couple of good articles on conditioner only washing:

    Washing your hair with conditioner?
    Conditioner Only Washes

Now, those two articles recommend American brands of conditioners, as they are written by Americans (probably). The conditioners I have found most useful for conditioner only washing are:

    Superdrug Just Conditioner
    Sainsburys Basics
    Tesco Apple and Aloe Vera
    Tesco Jojoba

Basically, the ones that are best are the really, really cheap own brand ones.

You do have to use loads of conditioner, but at least you're using the cheap ones!

Anyway, this method is not for everyone, but it's worked wonders for my straight, bleached hair.

Thanks for this. I didn't have any cheap conditioner so I had a go with pantene. Very pleased with the results. Soft and shiny and most importantly no frizz.

Using the heavier conditioner meant it took forever to dry naturally and it's a lot flatter than usually. Which for me is a treat as I can ususually give hairbear a run for his money, but others might not like it.

Hoping for even better results with the cheap stuff. I'll have to work out the savings but it's going to be a lot :)
  • Well ive done a week and a half of CO washing then lastnight gave my scalp a good wash with tgel (i get scalp eczema) as it had started to get a bit manky and i swear my hair feels even better still, so maybe i might go for a once a fortnight 'proper' wash.

This thread has been great. I've really been reading up on CO washing and doing it for about 4 weeks now.

I have been using an Asda Apple conditioner, however feel that I need a bit more moisture in my hair although I'm worried about greasy roots. Can anybody recommend a good shampoo for CO washing? I don't often get to a Sainsbury's or Tesco
