Costco - Is it worth it?

Options
I'm thinking about becoming a costco member but I want to be sure it's worth it.
I would just be using it for groceries for me / my OH / my cat and I dont mind stocking up if it;s a bargin.

Thanks

not just for veggies/fruit no, they tend to be good quality but not especially cheap when you average the fee (£25 a year ish)though milk and cheese are cheaper than the supermarket.
they have monthly offers where you can get loo roll and random other bits cheap which work out well, It's mainly non grocery stuff which tends to be really good quality and good value for money

    Yes yes and yes.
It's not like the membership costs hundreds of pounds a year.
I loooove Costco, always buy meat in bulk and then freeze it. The meat is very good quality for slightly more of the price of supermarkets own brands but cheaper then superior supermarket stuff. And the fish!!! £8 for kg of raw frozen huge prawns! Around £10 for whole fresh half of salmon. The smoked haddock is just out of this world (around £8 for 4, depending on weight)

And they have loads of other house stuff - I just got 20 sq m of travertine mosaic for my bathroom for £320... That is seriously good going.

Just a thought... I think you can get a "day pass" and walk around and have a look before you decide on getting a membership.

Might be good idea. Give your local Costco a call and find out whether it is still possible and whether you have to go at specific day/time.

I would say yes, we are into our third year now and as sad as this sounds its my OH's favourite shop (he even asks to go at weekends:o) the food in their little cafe is dead cheap too. We stock up on tins - beans tuna that sort of thing and they do clothes inc ugg boots and birkenstocks which I love. They do little tasters of foods too the 'tries' is the bribe to get my 5 yr old to go :D

Yes, I love it. I have been a member for 10 years. I buy mainly their own make dried cat food as it lasts for ages; their own make washing powder because you only need about half a cup as it is American; their tyres are usually good value. Their birthday cakes are fab for parties and at ony abut £11.99 you can get names and messages put on if you order at least 3 days in advance. Special offers on meat which is as previously said great quality and at a good price.

Find a friend that has a membership or if you have a friend you can share the cost of membership.

I quite often take a friend and go half with her on some of the shopping. Like for example on chicken breast or pork loin or bagels.

Because once you have a card you can take a guest with you (just 1 though)/

Worth a go - they promise to cancel your card and refund your membership fee if you don't feel that you are getting the benefit of it, even if you have used your membership to buy stuff :)

I LURRVEE Costco. Well worth the £25 in my opinion!

The kirkland toilet roll and kitchen roll are worth the savings alone!!!
