I love the roadkill term for money on the floor. We are just starting our MFW journey, so I'm looking at all the little ways I can get money to OP.

    ooo
    :o:o:o:o
    *clicks* *penny drops*

at the moment I don't catch any bus tbh
but I'm not in the queue for the other bus IYSWIM
I meant that I wasn't going into town in my night attire BTW!
genius use of standby savings - (IMHO obviously)

I needed new sofas (the othere were 'worse for wear' 12 years old!) and I popped into the Co-op to have a nosey...well to cut a long story short they had a sale on so I enquired after two sofas.
Paid a deposit on them to hold them then was invited to arrange finance during a members promotion which saved me 20% on the remainder - and they are interest free for a year. So a devious way of saving there, IMHO I would have paid £100 per month, now I am paying £80!
Oh and I haven't had to pay to have the old ones taken away as the lad doing the roofing is desperate for furniture so he's but the sofas in his brother-in-law's lock up while he waits for a house! Saved £35 there! He offered to pay for the sofas but (as I want to kieep him sweet) I declined, plus he was probably aware that I intended to scrap them!

    They have now been delivered.

Plumber has measured for the bathroom, I'm wating for the quote. I think the next job will be the soffits/fascias painting/tidying and edging. The job itself isn't dear (plus I know the roofer whol'll do it) but the scaffolding will be £400. Still needs must.

Then the next 'big' job had better be doors/windows as they are in a sorry state (misted units). I know I could just replace the glass but I want locks and a different style.

The quidco account though is looking very healthy at the moment.

I have written a complaint to the bank about a CC payment which went missing which then triggered interest charges (was an interest free card, have got it reinstated as such now) and default charges of just over £20 so if I do get that back I shall OP that.

result on this one...the refund has been made so that's an OP of £21.23 going in

The pot for car parking fees saved (by finding a free place or parking at my former employers and walking in to town) is looking VERY good. But I might save this for holiday spends as I'm going to Budapest this summer, and have a wedding to attend. Apparently though Budapest is a low cost destination (more by luck than judgement that that was picked). I also intend to e bay my [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] unwanted but beautiful stuff.

My quidco account is looking VERY healthy - was car insurance/breakdown cover month in April. Paid £28 for basic breakdown cover and got £20 cashback *glow* - and all tracked/validated!

re the home improvements - I will definitely do before and after pics! Must chase plumber for quote.

Nice going Valli. It all adds up quickly doesn't it.

I seem to have been doing ok on ebay in the past month. I have had to relist some things quite a few times but they are slowly going. I am getting fed up of going to the post office though. ;)

Can't wait to see the photos.

Thanks to you I have signed up for Lovefilm (through Quidco of course) for the free trial (and cashback).
However DD has helped me put together a list of actual films we (she and I have similar tastes) would like to watch.
On our new skybox we have Stepmom 'taped' which I sob through...everytime even though I have seen it many times now...
My quidco balance is in 3 figures *glow*
I can't wait to see the photos too. Nothing major has been done since we moved in although I have decorated since I have been on my own...DS's room has been done twice. The hyacinth paint first put on the walls by his dad when he was still here was a GRAVE mistake. A lovely colour but his dad's 'skills' meant a massive amount of work needed to be done to improve his room. Sadly his carpets still bears the evidence of the hyacinth. it was a lovely colour though but took a massive amount of wotk to paint over. Especially as the woodwork and coving had also been coated in hyacinth emulsion *rolls eyes*. The coving took three coats to get it back to white
That was a fun half term. Every day I went up and painted the coving...
he now has a very trendy colour - a Dulux one I cannot remember the name of. Might be Natural Wicker or Hessian (I definitely have that somewhere)
I need to repaint mine this summer. It is Violet White but there must have been a lot of violet in the tin because it definitely doesn't look white. I have one wall where an old paint (bright yellow) is leaching through and flaking the violet white off slightly. If I change the wall colour (which I should, really) I will have to have new curtains, and a lightshade and bedding...
My room gets a lot of light so needs a nice calm colour. Any tips (I don't like Crown paint BTW). And its a big room.

Is that good or bad? :rotfl:Good to get the cashback, but we have been with them about 3 or 4 years now. I really think they give a good service. The 1st year we were great and watched loads of stuff. Mostly as Charlie was small and if it was something i wanted to watch but DH didn't the postman would deliver in the morning and i could have it back in the poost box by the afternoon. I watched a few tv series this way. Now the kids are bigger we don't watch as many and can go a few weeks with one sat waiting to be watched, so that is why i downgraded. Not worth paying for what we don't use.

Hope you get on with it. Cheap enough for what it is if you use it right. I didn't get the cashback at the time but joined via Boots and they used to give me Boots points every month which i liked.
