Poor reception for t-mobile

I bought a T-Mobile payg dongle to use at my static caravan in Norfolk. I did a check on their site beforehand and they said the postcode had "excellent coverage" but, having just returned from there, I can tell you that I had terrible reception with webpages taking several minutes to load and download speeds varying between 5k and zilch. In the centre of Great Yarmouth it worked fine - even faster than my internet at home! - but out in Caister it was pathetic! Has anyone had similar experiences and does it help to complain??? I only need occassional access so their daily tariff suits me and I don't know anyone else offering such a deal.
