New Page so here we go again:never-in-doubt wrote: »Originally Posted by pania
Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes

Hi Numpty & Co
Did I miss some trolls..aw shucks:D
Had to laugh this afternoon Amex rang me about a new policy for those who work more than 16hrs a week a sickness plan where they will pay my credit card when I am ill so I then asked why they refused to do that when I was made redundant and then refused to pay back the PPI..unfortunately when that was added to my bill they didnt come under the financial ombudsman's rules so it was a no go...funny how when I mentioned the PPI and lack of payment that they decided that I didnt want what they were trying to sell me so I am guessing that it was a con and I caught them out:rotfl:0 -

I think you did well there - it is so satisfying isn't it, to have the right answers to give them, the ones that flummox them and off they go into the sunset
Numpty - I do clickety clicks but if you mean someone on the forums, it's not me - I don't do the forums on there and I am not registered as 3Dogs there - I use my REAL NAME except for one I think when I used 3Dogs - so it might be me if you mean that one - otherwise no !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Fingers crossed - photo of my 3 dogs should be here:
I'll see if it works before I give you details
Edit: it works - you can enlarge pic
One on right is 15 year old Bonnie, Jack Russell cross, from Wood Green Animal Shelter in 2000 - she had been out twice before and this was her last chance - luckily for her, and us, she has been a dream dog - loves balls, especially footballs - she is not a cuddly dog - she doesn't do that
In the middle is 6 year old Bess, rough coated Jack Russell, who we got as a pup - she is a little barrel and a little terror - I have just cut her coat but she got impatient and started to wriggle too much, so I did not get her finished - she still has long fur on one leg, chest and between her back legs - her long coat is white and rough, but her soft undercoat and skin is mostly black so I call her my little dalmation or appaloosa now
On the left is 2 year old Billy the cuckoo - a friend found him roaming loose in a storm, terrified, and rang me saying "I've found a Jack Russell boy dog if you want him" which of course we did but the first thing we noticed was the size of his feet - this was no Jack Russell - we think he might be a Plummer Terrier - he has Jack in him but Staffie & more too - he is bigger than the other two but tries to be like them so that is how he is our cuckoo - he fits in beautifully and plays with Bess all the time and old Bonnie tells them off for playing all the time!
However, when all together, the dogs are a handfull - but, of course, we love them and wouldn't be without them
Washer - see what I mean about the fur on Bess's ears ??Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Good evening everyone, and welcome back Horace - but what about that xray you were going to have done?!?
Have had lovely day out with our guests, cooked a French-style meal this evening with wine so am very mellow at present - hic! Will certainly sleep well tonight.
Will be back to full trollbusting duties at the weekend ( but have a couple of birthdays happening so might be hit and miss). One life - your life - live it!0 -
I found a wallet in the street at New Year with a good couple of hundred pounds in it! I had great fun thinking about waht I could do with the money, but not before I had searched the wallet, found a phone number and left a message saying I had found something that was probably very valuable to him!
I've never met such a grateful man! I was glad to restore his faith in humanity!
I am however, still waiting on karma to wake up and come and give me a pat on the back
Nicca - I lost my wallet a few years ago on the bus after a booze fuelled party (and my keys and mobile).... got off the bus with everything on the seat (why? still don't that lol)..... anyways, the bloke and his g/f behind me apparently seen me get off bus and leave my stuff....
Anyways, I went home and went to bed - got up the next day with banging head thinking i'd been mugged (typical bloke).... especially when I couldn't find my wallet and phone etc...
Soooo, later that day the landline rings and a bloke says Niddy - You probs won't remember but last night on the bus, you left your stuff and I have it with me. Fancy meeting to get it back..... (he knew my name from bank card and got landline from mobile - stored as Home!).
So I go to a local pub and meet the dude and everything was there - fine, a load of cash and my mobile etc - thinking the guy had done good, I gave him all the money in the wallet as reward, after all - my mobile was worth more than the hundred or whatever I had in my wallet. Soooo. I just forgot about it...
Then I was done with the ID Fraud - over £100k and 50 defaults, 10 cifas entries and god knows how many false addresses - i've just finished fighting and my last cifas dropped off 1st April.
So, moral of the story is that if you lose your wallet - cancel your cards etc cos the guy that found mine had nicked bank card numbers etc and my details from driving licence.... gutted.
Its been a 3 years slog - but got there in the end!:o
A word of warning, maybe....2010 - year of the troll
Niddy - Over & Out

Do people just not care?! I felt bad enough raiding the guys wallet for a number!
I also found a purse once that had only shrapnel in it and I figured the cards had been cancelled, but there was a baby scan in it, so mum and I started sluething to find the girl and get it back to her! Figured she'd be gutted at losing the scan more than anything else!

Evening All.
3dogs - Awwwwww. Your 3 dogs are lovely. And that picture is great - tell me did you bribe them to sit like that with treats on the top of the camera?!
They sound like right characters. I can see what you mean about Billy not really being a jack though!
Niddy that is such a terrible tale. Is it just me that thinks that its somehow even worse that you met him face to face?
I once lost a wallet when I was a student, I did get it back, someone handed it in to the shop I worked at with cards but sans the £80 wages I'd just been paid. Still at the time I was glad to have just the cards back and didn't cancel them, I'll certainly think twice after your tale.
No progress on kitchen today - my unhired help had a day off apparently :rotfl:
