Good Evening Allsolventsoon wrote: »Tixy - what colour is your kitchen going to be? Hope the decorating wasn't too boring:)
I got bored at the first stage (which was lots of sugarsoaping of the walls) Erm, just to say I think/hope it is going to be much nicer than it sounds but its going to be bubblegum pink (and I usually hate pink).Tixy, what's next on the kitchen agenda? I'm still at the dreaming stage.
Next is getting Dad to put up the new blinds (hopefully tomorrow, as I took the old ones down already) - and going hunting to look at worktops. Also still need to find the right flooring.
I've got a bit of time for the worktop though as the oven is going to take up to 4weeks.
I didn't know who the mackem's were either spoon, though I do know who the magpies are.
Goodnight all. Good luck with the course selection Numpty.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
SS & nic - sorry about that - a Mackem is a Sunderland FC football supporter and a Magpie supports Newcastle - and Liverpool thrashed Sunderland today - sob - sob - not unexpectedly of course :rotfl: :rotfl:
When you come from Newcastle you are supposed to follow Newcastle United and vise versa in Sunderland ........... so we go against the grain
Hope everyone OK - what course is it Numpty? - from the thread you seem to do a lot of them
We have done very little this afternoon - but I have been on web most of the time - surveys, clicks and reading threads, etc
Ahhh ... got it now, thanks 3Dogs. As nicca said, bad luck on the result though:(Thanks for clearing that up 3Dogs. Bad luck on the result though!
I'm ignoring my email inbox. There's hundreds of surveys for my to be screened out of, but I can't face them tonight.
Watching Restoration Man on Channel 4+1 instead.
I'm feeling confused by the clocks going forward as things aren't on when I expect them to be! Even though all my clocks have been changed. Brain just hasn't caught up yet! :rotfl:
nicca - I'm surprised at you ignoring your inbox :rotfl:
My brain definitely hasn't caught up with me today, totally confused. Hoping my jetlag will have worn off tomorrow:)Good Evening All

Actually, Tixy, bubblegum pink could be great in a kitchen. Kitchens need to be bright and cheerful, well I think so, but mine is, of course, lime green and orange;). What colour blinds and door fronts have you got (sorry:o, being nosey, I love decorating and choosing colour schemes).
And I have no clue at all about football, full stop. Didn't even know who the magpies were - so you're ahead of me:)The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Blinds are silver and I'm going for a look based on american 60s kitchens so lots of silver/chrome -recently got some original 60s chrome chairs. Then I think I'm going for a chequerboard floor.
I do follow football but my team have spent a number of years languishing in too low a league for me to be concerned with liverpool v sunderland results! Currently they are doing their best to throw away the brilliant form they have shown all year and possibly miss out on a promotion spot so they can spend yet another year playing against minion clubs.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Like the sound of that, Tixy

Good morning all. Having dispatched OH to work and DS to school and being off today I have just indulged myself in a breakfast of smoked dry-cured bacon in home-made bread rollls before getting washed and dressed. But before getting stuck into the business of the day, a little MSE time....
Good morning Numpty and Nid, down to earth again as it's good old Monday morning, eh?
Tixy - you could have an American diner theme in your kitchen with appropriate posters and kitchen gadgets in retro colours, sounds good. Our kitchen walls are currently a shade of vomit yellow, OH chose something a little brighter than I had been thinking of, but it looks ok really.
Solvent/Nic/3Dogs - our hairdresser told us once that people from Sunderland were called Mackems because they begrudged paying out good money in shops for things they could make at home - "Ah can mack that!"
Have a good day everyone. Unless you are a troll, in which case may the fleas from a thousand camels crawl up your legs and infest your ar....mpits.One life - your life - live it!0 -

Thats the sort of thing I am going for Nargle. Currently spending lots of time on ebay looking for the right items, an original clock etc that are suitable.
Its funny that things that can sound horrid (like vomit yellow!!) can actually look really good in a kitchen.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
