    Hi all

Cough is still bad despite having 6 pillows:eek:, rang the docs and can't get an appointment til Monday and then only with a med student and a video camera:eek: but the receptionist did say that I could ring tomorrow as an urgent case..I feel as though I am drowning...its definitely bronchitis.

Have a question for you - just wondering if I am being grumpy or not? Last month the networking group that I am in held an auction to raise money for another member (not in our group but in the same network) so that she could have one last holiday (she being riddled with cancer) unfortunately she crossed over last week and now the networking group that I am a member of want to give half the money raised to a fund that is going to be set up in her honour and keep half for a charity which has yet to be chosen by the group. I feel as though I am being forced to accept this by being told that the person that bid for my services has agreed that the money should go to a local charity, as a donor I think that the money should go to the original cause especially as we have publicised the fact that we raised £700..am I being grumpy for disagreeing and making my feelings known..do I withdraw the offer of my services (the chap has paid but hasnt contacted me and therefore not taken them up) or what? Here's hoping that you can help me decide or at least tell me if I am making the right decision.

Thank you Numpty..if I had been called about this rather than emailed then the call would have been terminated. I am now considering withdrawing as marketing assistant I feel that strongly..it is almost as if I have been conned into providing a service for an unknown charity and one that I may not support anyway:mad:

I like that idea ................ but I needed the exercise so I had to go too :(

Horace - I don't feel you are being grumpy about the charity thing - you offered your services for one purpose only - at least they should have consulted you first before deciding to do different and then, knowing your feelings, I feel that they should go with your wishes - sometimes, people can be very thoughtless like that

I'm with the other Horace. It could be a charity that you are against (for me there are some charities I would never support). I can't see any good reason why they should change and start splitting this money to different causes.

If they want to raise money for another cause then they should start that as a seperate exercise with everyone then able to make their own choices.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P
