Carphonewarehouse & nokia charger question

Hello - I don't know if anyone will know but I thought if anyone does then it'll be you lot on here

I took out a new contract with T-Mobile towards the end of March through the CPWH and got a free nokia 6111. My charger has decided to die on me and I took it to the shop tonight to see if they would replace it as I was under the impression it would still be under warrenty. The Sales assistant told me that the charger wasn't covered under the warrenty and that it was tough that it had broke and I'd have to buy a new one (which is guarenteed because I have bought it outright!!)

What are my rights with regards to this? I need my charger (phone is now well and truly dead) but don't see why I should have to pay £25 for a new one when I've only had the new one for 4 months! Can I demand a new one?

i would think is covered under sales of goods act ,replace or repaire full stop and you would expect a charger to last the full 12 months if not longer

I thought it would be covered by something like that but I thought before I start arguing I'd come on here and check first! Just hope the person I see tomorrow is reasonable - I am rubbish at being assertive!

Well I got a replacement "eventually". I went to the cpwh in the Trafford centre and they gave me that standard bobbins saying that they couldn't give me a replacement blah blah blah so I went to the one in the retail park and the guy in there swapped it for me no problems so yay for them! :T

You can get a new charger for nokia off of ebay for a couple of quid. Even try your mates. Anyone that upgrades gets a new one so most households have more than one kicking about. We have about 5 Nokia and other for samsung and motorola.

I see what you are saying but I fail to see why I should have to pay for a new charger when I have had it less than 4months and it is faulty! I had asked friends and family and no one had an extra one. I got an exchange from the cpwh so its all sorted now anyway
