What else can I use O2's inclusive anytime xnet minutes for?
Options
I have got an O2 plan with 250 anytime xnetwork minutes per month. I will only probably use about 30 minuter for calls and would like to make use of the remaining inclusive minutes. What else can I use them for? Will I be able to use them for browsing the internet, sending emails or using wap?

No they're for calling. use them instead of your landline. if you only need 30 why get a plan with 250?
It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

I could have got a contract with less mniutes but the 250 one was the best value in terms of cashback so I went for it. I was hoping that I could do other things with the minutes but was always going to let my relatives make use of the 3 hours that will now be going spare.0

However, just read Mobileshop's latest new offer and "View Tariff Information" link, it says:
Tariff Breakdown for 250 + 100 Free SMS on O2
.........Premium rate, international and roaming calls, 08xx calls and value added services are charged at separate rates, please check with Network Service Provider for details of charges for these types of calls...........
Is there the restriction on any new contract take out with them or other retailers?0 -
it states that all the time
go to o2 website and checks T & C's and it should state that you can use 08XX no's in ur inclusive mins..but not 0871 thou

i'm checking the website but its confusing!!
http://www.o2.co.uk/termsconditions/tariffsandboltons0153
i'm not sure which one to look at..
Online Pay & Go™ terms & conditions (Post May 5th 2006)
this one says that it cost money..
or Pay Monthly Calling Plan Terms and Conditions
under this heading:
it states "UK Fixed Line Calls include calls made in the UK to standard UK Fixed-Line numbers, voicemail menu access and retrieval, fax calls, and calls to free phone, local rate and national rate numbers (0845 and 0870). On O2 200, 250, 400, 600 and O2 Max voicemail menu access and retrieval is free and not decremented as part of your inclusive minutes. "
meaning 0870 and 0845 no's are referred to as UK fixed line calls..
"Inclusive minutes include UK fixed line calls, WAP over GSM data calls, calls to O2 mobiles and calls to other UK mobiles ("cross network")."
therefore inclusive mins included Uk fixed line calls>?
with this info..its upto you..i'm just highlighting the info..
best to look for more info..before taking the plunge..smile everyday...cos its free

Thanks again.
I have also read the O2 t&c link. So many options! Read :
O2 Online Pay Monthly terms & conditions
.......9. Inclusive call minutes can be used to call some non-geographical and special services numbers with the following prefixes: 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845 and 0870. Once the inclusive minute allowance has been used up, calls to these numbers will be charged as calls to standard UK landlines at the prevailing tariff. Some exceptions may apply and calls to some numbers may be free of charge.......
I am just not sure will the Mobileshop deal comes under this catergory.
I will do some more looking. Thanks again.0 -

Looking at the t&c for high street tariffs on O2's site, it mentions that 0845 & 0870 nmubers can be used as inclusive minutes but that was it.
I emailed O2 to ask if I could use 0844 numbers and was told that as long as the company providing the number only charge O2 at the "Standard Rate" then yes they will also come out of the inclusive minutes. What this 'Standard Rate' is, I have no idea but as usual the best way to find out is to make an experimental short call and see how it is billed.0
