Had our house insulated earlier in the year (cavity and loft) under the grant scheme. Cost £99 and the heating has hardly been on this winter.

    Hi,
My gas bill for the quarter ending 17th March this year was £156.00 about 25% up on the same time last year & my electric bill was up about 12%. My house is relatively new build and has all the usual regulation insulation installed.
    Hope this helps.

    Nothing.

We used pretty much the same this year as last, infact 2 units of gas less. No change in lifestyle and no going cold either.

  • I've recieved my gas and electric bill today from EDF. Gas from 11/12/09 to 15/03/10 £354.85 which I expected as have had heating on almost 24/7 over the really cold snap.

Electric from 30/11/09 to 16/03/10 £390.85:eek: I wasn't expecting this Last quarter was £316.32 and I stopped using the tumble dryer compleatly after that as I know they are expensive to run. Now this is even bigger. Thing is I can't make sense of the bill they have sent me or if its estimated or actual???
    Nothing to report:p

Had a new combi boiler fitted late autumn, and have saved a lot of money/gas over this winter. (And electric). Quite chuffed, they have just reduced my DDs by a third and I have some on credit.

To poop the party of those crowing about not paying significantly more this winter - you should not be celebrating about not paying a few hundred extra this year - you should be doubled-up in sick-to-the-stomach realisation over the thousands of pounds you have wasted over the previous mild winters.
