    Lidl ones do have gluten too, they are 41% beef and 29% pork

    So they're not the same meatballs at all. Wonder where the OP's friend got the idea that they are and even stranger why MSE have included it in the weekly mail (without even checking) when it's obviously not correct. :eek:

    Sainsburys do a fresh version that do not contain gluten and these are very nice - I've bought them 'cos my OH is a coeliac -HTH

    Exactly - yes, they're "Swedish meatballs", but these are not - repeat, NOT - the same ones as you get in Ikea.

    Lazy work on MSE's part - especially when one of Martin's mantras is to know your facts!

    re the sauce, colmans do a swedish meatball sauce that's exactly the same and it doesn't require cream like the Ikea one.

    Well I don't know about IKEA meatballs in Lidl, but the ordinary packs of them they sell are yummy (especially in a spicy tomato sauce with pasta) :T

    Tried this and don't think it's a patch on it tbh..each to thier own though!!

    :rotfl:these meetballs are absaloutly delicious and exactly like ikea
    my advice is go get some now there in a big bag pre cooked like ikea ones
    one bag was enough to feed me hubby 3 teens 1 child easily
    the sauce is avalible in most supermarkets in the casserole mix/ dried sauces section
