harassment by phone

Use the template letter I have put on this thread.
That should concentrate their attention and if not go to the Ombudsman and force the issue.0 -
Change your phone number?
Or take out BT's choose to refuse, bit pricey but worth it as you can block their phone numbers.
Return all letters in one large envelope to them with not known at this add written on each one, but do not put a stamp on the envelope so they will have to pay the postage. They will soon get fed up with paying as they pay more than just the cost of the postage.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

So just follow my advice and they will very soon stop phoning you ever again!
What a lovely person you must be, do you go out of your way to be so nice to strangers?0 -
hahaha that is brilliant. Glade to see some people have a sense of humor
as to why not give them my sisters address. Because she asked me not to.
Her choice i guess
Am I missing something here.
Your sister has dropped you in it by using your address to get a loan she is now not paying.
You will not give them her address because she asked you not to.
She appears to be taking you for a mug.0 -
Her choice? What about your choice not to be taken for a fool? Now you have admitted that she has instructed you to actively cover her backside and withhold her address you can't really complain about the consequences of it. If you don't like it then just tell them her address and let HER complain about being harassed on the phone instead. If you are going to play an active part in this then don't moan about it when you get all the calls.
.......And i'll back track on my previous post because it sounds like you need to give yourself a good slap too.
The OP doesn't have to pass the address on by law and wants to abide by her sister's wishes not to pass the address on. It's not particulalry helpful being judgemental and having a go. In fact, they're not even chasing her sister from the sounds of it - implying the debt is the OP's, when it is not.
The harrassment in itself is not allowed by law. OP I hope you gain all the info you need in the links previously given and manage to stop them contacting you.
The fact it's your sister has no real relation to the point in hand - even if it was a past tenant, or someone you didn't know, it's irrelevant - same would apply - they're harassing you and aren't allowed to.
hth,
pippitypipI know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!

You should report the calls to your phone provider as harassment. They should either block the number for free or let you change your number for free.

It's obviously causing you a lot of grief, while your sister pees away the money with little consequence! I'd drop the ball on it, lol.0

......And who's fault is that?? She has colluded with her sister in pretending she doesn't know where she lives & now she's complaining about the consequences of her own actions. Tough! She should have thought about that when she agreed to help her sister steal money from the loan company.
I would have much more sympathy if this was not connected to the OP in any way but she's not as innocent as she makes out & is only in this situation because she agreed to do her sister's lying for her.
I think you'll find the OP is not lying. The loan company are saying the loan is hers - it's not. I agree the sister is putting the OP in a difficult situation but that's between them and I, for one, won't judge that.
Simples.

She gives your address defaults on payments and lets you field the debt collector calls.
