Parcelforce still not bothering to deliver....
Comments
-
It's a Parcelforce card, has "how to find your local Parcelforce Worldwide depot" on it and a small red/white Parcelforce Worldwide logo with their internet address and a map with the location of the Parcelforce depot. On the other side one of the delivery options is crossed "has been taken to local PO branch at *****".
There is no doubt it was delivered by the postie. I called the number on it straight away and was asked for the 'tracking number' - there isn't one. Was told to complain via website, which I've done. An automated response says "Parcelforce Worldwide is a trading name of Royal Mail Group plc" - which might explain the connection between PF and RM.
It is a trackable parcel from abroad (if that makes any difference), & I've had to collect it once before from the PO.
Appreciate I'm making a fuss about nothing much, but I'm paid to do MY job a particular way - shortcuts of my own making at the customers expense would be unacceptable. A decent rant has made me feel better - now I'm off to the PO to collect it, perhaps they can shed light on why postie clearly didn't have it with him/her yesterday!0 -
this happens a lot in the tenenment areas
PF driver cant gain entry to the stair(so cant leave the card),so they send the card out via RM for delivery
they know there is a far higher chance a foot postie will know when/how to get into that stair
it should never happen with a main door0 -
Custardy - is there a chance PF is giving the cards to RM without even attempting to come round to the house. If I were under oath I'd swear my postie put the card through the door (not RM van/driver), mainly from where it was in amongst my mail.
Went to the PO just now and asked why this had happened. Counter assistant said they were "having a problem with the PF driver.........he doesn't knock on doors". I rather get the impression he doesn't even drive into the street let alone knock on the door!!
Oh well, I suppose I ought to just 'get a life' so this trivia won't wind me up further.0 -

well thats down to PF,i dont really know their deliver spec
however i have seen the PF driver out on my old duty(a real !!!!! of a duty with all stairs and awkward entry times) and would get PF letters through the next day for that area
was the card loose or in an envelope?
TBH i think these things should be raised
as i have said befroe, people say how such and such a postie is lazy because they are late, but its the posties doing the job right who suffer by not being 'runners'
so if someone is cutting corners it should be raised0 -
Leaving a parcel at a local PO is standard procedure if the parcel cannot be delivered (customer not home, address not accessible). The idea is that the PO is likely to be closer than the PF depot.
However, this definitely sounds like a lazy driver. But the only way that you could be receiving the card in this way is if the PF driver gave the card to the postie, which means the postie is encouraging the PF driver's lazy behaviour. As Custardy says, the issue does need to be reported.0 -
One of the firms I work with used to use PF and when drivers are busy they knock or card & walk away, if you don't catch em before they get to the van it goes to the post office.
We had alot of complaints about this & some times they didnt even leave a card.
The other issue was the 08 number when trying to sort these issues out. 50p a min from a mobile dosent keep customers happy
Gnever take advice from broke or unsuccessful people

I've always been a bit suspicious about these type of stories as they just don't make sense. Like most courier companies, PF use a combination of employed and self-employed drivers (about 50/50). As self-employed drivers only get paid for a successfully delivered parcel there is no way that they would spend time and fuel driving to the address and then leave a card without trying to deliver the parcel.0 -

Except around here they seem to take it to the post office furthest away from me and the depot is actually nearer. If they took it to the nearest post office I wouldn't mind but I would rather it go back to the depot if they are going to take it to a further one.0 -
And then of course u get the lovely customers who don't read the card, who turn up at Royal Mail Delivery Offices, clutching their little blue card, then curse at the assistant who politely points out on their card that it's parcel force and it's been taken to the post office.
Two of the above customers I had today. I wouldn't mind so much, but when you see how perfectly the cards were written out in comparison to some of the posties ones that we get in
It really makes me wonder if people do read these cards or just want an excuse to curse at someone...4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
