Parcelforce still not bothering to deliver....

There have been previous threads about this but it's the first time I am 100% certain it's happened to me.

Sitting in a room just off my hallway, I heard the mail being pushed through the letter box, dawdle out to get it and in amongst the little pile is a Parcelforce card claiming "we called to deliver/collect your parcel", yeah, right. How exactly do they do that when there is NO knock on the door or ring of the doorbell!

Pity I wasn't faster to get up, then I'd have been able to catch the lazy g!t so they'd be forced to admit they hadn't even got it with them, hence no reason to knock on the door or ring the doorbell.

Maybe Parcelforce need a new card which says "couldn't be bothered to attempt delivery of your parcel, so suggest you collect it yourself".

Not totally correct we get our Parcelforce deliveries with normal mail. As we are so remote it all comes in the same van. So if the OP is in a similar position it could have happened.

Have never heard of it. Seriously. RM and PF although are sister companies, don't share depots. Unless, there's some delay going on with your PF packets, which I would be questioning.

  • Postie put the card through the letterbox along with a bit of junk mail, my Tesco clubcard voucher letter and my Council Tax bill - definitely. The parcel hasn't gone back to the Parcelforce depot, I have to collect it from the local post office (leaving 1 day first).

And it's definitely a parcel force card? That's very strange. Here parcel force don't take packets back to the depot but leave them at your local post office for your collection. Have never taken in a parcel force packet for collection in our depot either. But the way things are working with RM and PF lately, nothing really surprises me.

Sorry to say again actually ours does due to geography which is why our PF comes with our post and they pick up from us. We may be one of the few in the country that does. Obviously none in cities etc will

As part of quality assurance tests I have done for RM and PF in the past, I can assure you that on occasions PF mail does arrive with your normal mail.

Proof of this - if this happens in your area - is if you see an envelope with a PF logo where the post mark is. And I dont live in a remote area!

I may be wrong on this, but I believe that in remote areas PF work is handed over to RM for the 'final leg'. I don't know exactly how the system works but I don't see how you can blame the PF driver for being a 'lazy git', when PF don't deliver to your area.

I stand corrected. I still haven't seen this. Even on our rural duties. If it's something that's given to RM for the final leg then surely it would be a RM card that was left and not a PF one??

Can the OP elaborate on this? Was it a RM card left or a PF card?

Edit: Oh I do apologise OP I misread one of your posts where it said you have to pick it up at PO. I have never seen a postie with a PF card ever. Which it must have been if it's been taken to PO?
