If you just need music in each room you can un slim server on one PC and then buy multiple squeezeboxes (£200-300) each and speakers for each room. If you want music/videos and pictures in each room then a mini itx based PC with a small touch screen + speakers will be needed for each room (probably 400ish for each room)0

nice idea, but about 4 times more expensive than the touchscreen system... and not so pretty

Gawd help you if you get a power cut!
We get loads here and it's enough hassle re-setting the few 'electricals' that I've got. Sorry, but I'm a bit of a Luddite (apart from the computer of course!) and I wouldn't want to pay for all the doings that I probably wouldn't use! "I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0
