Cost of Phoning Spain with Spanish Mobile

Slightly odd question but here goes.
We currently have a Spanish exchange student staying. We have offered the use of the home phone for her to phone her parents but she insists on using her mobile.
I know roaming charges tend to be high for UK phones abroad but I wondered whether anybody could give me some idea of what it is costing our exchange student to phone a Spanish landline from the UK using a Spanish phone/sim.
I'm not planning to charge her for using the home phone but just need some ammo to point out how much her mobile calls are costing her. An expense she doesn't need to burden herself with. It is not a privacy issue either as there is a DECT phone in her bedroom so she can make the calls in private.

Unless there is a special add-on option for cheaper roaming, the Eurotariff mandated by the EU regulators is currently 43 cents plus VAT per minute, 19c + VAT for incoming calls.
There may be an equivalent to Vodafone Passport, which charges a connection fee then uses contract inclusive minutes, but I don't know. But if so the connection fee would be in the order of 1 Euro, not nice for shorter calls
If you're not yet familiar with making cheap international calls, use the MSE Callchecker and you'll find you can call Spanish landlines from your landline for a penny a minute or so0 -

Success.
Now she has realised that the netbook we have lent her has webcam & microphone, she does a quick text home to tell them to get on line and can now chat to her hearts content to her family on Messenger.
No cost to anyone (apart from a text message). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
