I'm just gonna wait for the surprise, I have a vanquis with £50balance1500 limit, it's at 34.9 though so I'm sure it will beat that by 10% at worst
I'm gonna guess at 24.9 at 1000, :rotfl:0 -

What number are you calling? When I ring up, they say they can't see what the limit/APR is.0 -

FYI the 34.7% printed on your Vanquis bill is the simple interest rate, not the Annual Percentage Rate (APR).
Vanquis breach the regulations by not stating the APR, which is in fact 39.9% if it states 34.7% on your statement.
The interest rates vanquis quotes don't include compounded interest. Every other credit card company factors this in when telling your the rate (Simple Interest Rate vs Annual Percentage Rate)
So, atleast 15% better if you get it at 24.9%Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Nothing in particular but had to go for Sygma card because of who they search about you.Thoughts were to go for Silver then in future go for flybe because might be in position to use free flight then.I have a deep burning indifference0 -
I was approved for the Silver card yesterday, already have a Flybe card.Just going to wait and see what the limit and APR is.Probs be a low limit because of the amount of available credit i have.Really do need to close one or two cards down.0

Afternoon all!
..new to the sub prime thread, was made BR 2 years ago so have only been discharged for a year. Credit files are a bit of a mess, quite a few entries to correct etc.. but things are looking better!
I've just been approved for the Capital One card, will be low limit I'm sure but it's a start. Other than that I have a couple of Catalogue accounts (so far unused, should I be using them?) and a Barclays basic account.
Some questions if I may
- In what order would people recommend I apply for cards? I always thought Vanquis was the first port of call, but they've said no for now.
- Is there a basic bank account that has better odds of an upgrade down the line than Barclays? Dont care about overdraft but a cheque book would be nice to have again.
Just for the record I'm not heading down any slippery slopes, lessons well and truly learned, but I would like to have a shot at a mortgage in 4-5 years time so need to get the record looking as good as it can!

by the way the flybe credit card is still classed as a prime card hence the apr's 16.9%,19.9% or 24.9%...sub prime cards are the likes of MONUMENT-AQUA-CAPITAL ONE PROGRESS AND CLASSIC-AND VANQUIS..even other prime cards such as halifax are now sending out there cards at 24.9% even some as high as 29%,with sygma cards the application criteria is not as strict..my friends apr on his vanquis has now gone to 59%.. oh and barclaycard inital sub-prime0
