What is it that that cack advert goes on about re BT, the one where that twit from 'My Family' sarcastically sneers at the estate agent saying 'How's business, slow?' a dig at his slow internet connection. Well guess what twit, i'm on BT and our internet connection is 'slow'. So slow that i'm seriously considering throwing the bloody PC out of the window......i'm just minutes away really. 6 meg download speed? really? Through an industrial sized vat of treacle first....

So what speed are you getting? And what speed should you be getting?
Have you done all the standard tests to establish that it's not your wireless connection/internal wiring/ADSL filters that are causing the problem?
No point in blaming BT until you're ruled out all the other possibilities. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Agreed. But when he has then the next step will be to find a decent ISP0 -
changing ISP won't improve speeds if its any of the things macman postedEx forum ambassador

Have to give BT at least a chance.
Only the one, mind you.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

From the admittedly insufficient information given though (mention of 6Mbps hints it may be syncing at that) and the known absysmal performance of BT I'll bet that the problem is down to them.
In fact even if there is a line problem swapping to an LLU operator would escape the truly dire BTw IPstream DLM routines and artificial speed limiting via their IP profile system which could bring some relief.0
