    question re: yorshire puddings.

    I live by myself but love yorshire puddings. However, even by mixing up only small quantitie of batter I can make a whole tray of 'mini' puds. As much as I would love to eat oll of these in one go, my wasitline would suffer!!!! Is it possible to freeze the leftovers?

    Why don't you do what Aunt Bessie does and put the yorkie mixture into small foil cases and freeze- then bake from frozen in a hot oven.

    You could also make a six inch yorkie in a cake tin and fill with sausage - or veg and gravy for a meal for yourself on a weekday.

    Mac I freeze yorkies no problem. To defrost if I've already got the oven on I leave them in the grill so they warm up a little bit without getting too crunchy. Or just bung them straight in the oven on a lower shelf.

    Hi

    Over the past 7 weeks alone, reading this site daily, I have saved around £200 on groceries/shopping alone!! :j I noted down all foods in my freezers and meal planned.

    I am disabled, but do try and cook all food from scratch and do more on "better" days etc and freeze. Failing that, I tell hubby what to do..lol :T

    I thought it might be an idea to see how people plan their meals/budget on a daily/weekly basis etc. Im sure this will help us all in one way or another to better our routines/schedules etc....maybe even save more money :T

    This is how I work my week with estimated costs:

    Breakfast Choices

    Cereal(weetabix, porridge)
    Toast (Jam or marmite)
    Egg On Toast (poached, fried, boiled, scrambelled)
    Bacon Sarnie (I have daily-have to eat special diet)
    Fruit Juice/Piece of Fruit


    Lunch Choice

    Daughter Packed lunch (sandwich,fruit,yogurt, crisps,drink(squash) & biscuit)
    Hubby & I-jacket spud & salad, sandwich, soup or beans on toast

    Dinner Choice

    Spag Bol (beef)
    Shepards Pie & Veg (lamb)
    Toad In The Hole, Mash, Veg & onion gravy
    Roast Dinner(chicken/lamb), Roast pots, mash, 2/3veg, yorkies,stuffing,gravy
    Chicken Curry & Rice
    Egg, Chips & Beans
    Chops, pots & Veg

    Pudding Choice(if dinner eaten)

    Fruit & Custard
    Ice Cream
    Rice Pudding

    So thats my shop list for this week. There will be enough for snacks of fruit, sandwiches, toast, etc. God...theres a heck of alot of value stuff there...lol. I think we eat quite well on such little money. If anyone can help cut my food bill down further...please let me know!!!

    You have some good meals there. I love to see other peoples meal choices to give me ideas for ours.

    I'll be able to add my list next week, this week I shopped for a lot of stuff in Lidls and I dont have the receipt so cant give prices.

    I must admit I don't buy biscuits very often at all. With your oats and butter could you add a few raisins, golden syrup (or sugar I think) and make your own healthy flapjack things? I'm not knocking your biscuits, lol but just trying to ring the changes :D
