Lloyds TSB - Select or Silver?

Can anyone please explain the advantages of these 2 account options, I've had a Select account for a few years now but I've seen there's a Silver account which is £1 a month less and looks to have more benefits? Or am I getting something with Select that's worth sticking with?
Thanks!
Thanks!

as i dont know you i can really advise on whether you should pay more for a diff account and the advantages depend on whether you use the benefits
do you use the extras you pay for already?
would you use the extras of the more expensive account?
are the extras really worth the money you pay for them? (work out yearly cost and see if you could get cheaper)
answer the above questions and youll beable to decide whats right for you, personally i stopped paying for accounts years ago when i realised they were really a con (in my opinion)0 -
The Select Account is just an old packaged account Lloyds TSB no longer offer. With the Silver you would gain travel insurance, and a travel money card, but loose the £50 interest free overdraft. Paying £1 extra per month won't justify the overdraft. I would consider upgrading. Do you use the features on the account? If not, it might be worth downgrading to the Classic Current Account, and save yourself £8.95 per month.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0

The select account is the older verson of silver I think they are virtually identical so you are better of changing to silver for a £1 less. Personally I have just changed my Select account to a Classic which costs nothing at all because in the 5 years I had my Select account I never used any of the benefits I got with it.
It was quite funny when I went in to change it the lloyds employee said you know you won't get your AA cover anymore I said yeah thats fine I have never used it in 5 years anyway - she said yes but is that because you haven't broke down....??? Errr yeah of course it is lol.0 -

I have just opened a Silver account with Lloyds, what do you get in terms of Visa debit features and overdraft?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Visa debit with CG facility. Silver account comes with same card as classic. Full Visa debit facility coloured green and featuring London 2012 branding.
Overdraft is subject to status. Anywhere from 100 to infinity.0 -

They may do with their basic account but silver is a full current account with a visa debit that works offline.
I have the silver account, and have tested this on a Ryanair flight and at all the usual places...0
