leaving vodafone via PAC transfer, but what about last bill cost?

ok, i've asked for my pac

a new invoice has come which is line rental + last month on top usage.

i rang voda to ask about line rental and he said it's prepaid.

so i should have paid for my march usage upto the 25th, as that's when the direct debit is.

as line rental is in advance and i plan to move on in the next day or two, can i claim back the line rental they plan to bill me on the 25th (which is my understanding of advance payment for april?

You have not cancelled the contract, a PAC code is not a cancellation request as such because if you don't use it then your contract continues. You also can't know when exactly it will be used, so you just need to pay the rental as usual and once you moce you'll get a final bill. After that you can claim any credit back.

This is correct. They will issue a prorated bill up to the point where your account is cancelled. This appears to happen on your 30th day of notice.

going to order via orange website tonight, for next day delivery, but it might be wednesday if ordering tonight

then i will orange to activate new account and ask to port my number, as there isn;t an option online for PAC when ordering and i rang to ask, they said you can transfer it when i recieve the new phone.

hopefully it will be just intime before the new month bill actually start.

once i have transfered my pac, paid this month bill for advance payment for next month allowance, should i be able to ring up vodafone and get a credit back onto my bank account?

or am i going to have to end up paying for another month with vodafone ontop of new contract?

All depends on when your vodafone contract end date is.
You have to pay upto the end of contract as a minimum plus any additional days if you get the 30 day notice goes past the contract end date.

just got new phone and transferred pac, i hope it takes less than 72 hours.

Probably not. As before it depends on your contract end date.

You can get a pac code which is valid for 30 days and use it on day 10 but you still have to pay for the extra 20 days. Thats what the 30 day notice is. If there is any credit to be paid back, voda normally send out a revised bill (but its very rare).

hmm will get on the blower when my pac has been transfered for good, otherwise paying for double line rental! and one line rental which i don't even have access too if pac is transferred

Was the contract due to end this month?
Providing you have completed your contract term, they will probably not take payment for next month or if they do, it will be credited back. Worth checking as you say.

my contracted ended along time ago.

it's not like i'm on a 24 month contract and on 23rd month if that was what you were thinking.


but requested my pac last few weeks and just used it

In that case, all you will be paying for now is up to the end date of the 30 day pac period. You won't need to do anything as vodafone take line rental one month in advance so the next payment on 25th March will be cancelled. Get to the end of the month and I would delete the direct debit on the account but only at end of month. The only payment they might take now I think would be for usage (if any) outside the normal monthly allowance on tariff.

Easier still, dial 191 and get it all sorted out for your peace of mind but I would not worry. :cool:
