tired all the time

I'm feeling a bit like this but mine seems to come in waves. I can be OK walking the dogs for example but other times just feel I want to collapse onto the floor. I can work through it though (seem to have no choice most of the time!). The doctor just says keep a diary.
I was wondering about just getting some sort of tonic from the chemist but people seem to think these are rubbish................
Hasn't the doctor arranged for some tests? If not, when are you taking your diary back to him?0 -
I really think your only option is to visit the doctors. As someone else said, find a different doctor if your present one is unhelpful. This is the only way to rule out an underlying health problem. They test for anemia, thyroid, liver and kidney function etc. Think about your diet and try to eat lots of fruit and veg. Do any types of food cause any symptoms as well as the tiredness? It could be a simple food allergy. You can't possibly find out without visiting your doctor. Good luck.0

Ask the doctor for 'starvation' blood tests so they can do a diabetes check along with all the others mentioned by beachbeth.0

Hi, i've not read all the posts, and i'm sure some of the more medical advice might be useful - but i suggest that it might be part of an inactive lifestyle
If your day allows, get up and go for a walk before breakfast - the fresh air and exercise will wake you up, and kick start your metabolism in the mornings (helping weight loss etc)
open a window while you're at work, the fresh air might help you stay alert
Try and get out at lunch, get out in the sunshine and fresh air - go for lunch with friend to keep you occupied
go for a walk before your tea, and try to eat before 7 pm
exercising more will make you feel more tired, but your body will be less lethargic
and maybe consider a new bed, this might not be helping with your aches and pains0 -
I would also think it might be worth a chat with your GP. I would be surprised if they thought you were wasting their time.
Alongside that, it is really worth trying to eat well for a period of time, and keep up your hydration levels. Also, are there any 'bad' things that you have lots of that might contribute...sweet things, coffee, fizzy drinks etc? It may be worth reducing down if you do, and seeing how that goes.
I've never really got along with going to the gym, and tend to do short exercize DVDs at home now. My top one at the moment is 15 minute workouts for Dummies, which always feels very manageable. Exploring yoga might be another thing to consider. I find it very relaxing and restoring, and do some yoga most days now - even if it's just for 5-10 minutes.
Also, just getting some fresh air is good - even if you only get out for a 10 minute walk arond the block.
I do think it's worth ruling out something more medical too though. Hope things improve soon.0 -
One of the reviews for the SAD light mentions that people who have had laser eye surgery shouldn't use the lights. Any ideas why?If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0
