Hi everyone
not done a thread before, but here goes...
Does anyone else feel tired all the time. I seem to be constantly exhausted. I go to bed early every night around 10pm and get a good nights sleep, but every morning i wake up feeling tired and aching all over. Weekends i have to take a couple of hours in the afternoons to sleep otherwise i feel like i am going to drop! I don't have a particularly stressful job, work regular hours, i don't have any children so i should be full of energy! i am 38.
Any tips etc, any supplements etc that people find helpful. I don't really want to go to my GP as i find them unsympathetic and will feel like i am wasting their time.

What is your diet like? Do you eat a lot of starch carbs?
Do you do any exercise? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I think largely, and this is my opinion so not tested in any way, most over the counter supplements are useless.
Although regarding what you said about your GP have you ever had your thyroid checked at all? I have an underactive thyroid and I only had two of the recognisable symptoms - heavy periods and extreme tiredness. I don't know if you are a lady, so can't comment on the periods, but it might be worth it for you given how tired you say you are.
It is a simple blood test and if you do have to condition it is very easy to manage once they get your tablets right.I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.0 -
i feel like that and i'm only 27. i have 2 kids and i currently don't work. i always find this time of year zaps my energy also i am prone to anaemia (due to heavy periods). Iron supplements that are of high enough concentration tend to cause constipation so i prefer to try and use an iron rich diet. To boost iron levels can take months either way.0

I'd second gettng your thyroid checked - I have this, and before I was diagnosed and started treatment spent the whole time utterly exhausted, no matter how much I slept, etc. A simple blood test can check for this.
Also, if your GP is not sympathetic, find another one! My last GP was an utter moron and kept blowing me off when I told him I was having issues. I switched GP's and am a lot better off for it!0 -
Just to check- you sleep well enough but feel like you are tired when you wake up, rather than feeling tired at night?Hi everyone

I bought a Philips GoLight Blu (SAD light) a couple of weeks ago and it's made a significant difference to my tiredness. At the moment it's about 50% off at Amazon and there's a 30 day money back guarantee from Philips themselves. I'm not normally a Philips fan but it seems they've got this product really right. Plenty of good reviews for it too. It's small and portable (unlike most SAD lights) and can be set on a timer to wake you up in the morning. As good as it is I appreciate it's not an insignificant purchase as even half price it's £125.00. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-HF3330-Seasonal-Affective-Disorder/dp/B002G1Y8S60
