iphone sounds

Hi,
Hope you can help me, my iphone will play videoclips but will not play the sounds with them, or when previewing ringtones there is no sound. All other sounds on the phone work, ie the ringtone i have downloaded etc. I have checked sound via settings & all seems ok, any ideas please

I don't know if this helps, but have you checked what compression are the sounds on videos? My phone did not understand mp4 so I had to change it to mp3.

You should see if something like this shows there. It does play something like downloaded mp3 and stuff? Videos can have many kind of formats on the sound side, so check that.

VLC gives you a change to play around with these options. Not everyone likes to play around with that stuff though.

If this is the problem your iPhone is not broken, you just happen to have a wrong video file for it. (video can be itself right, but the sound could be wrong)
