In what way have they been 'no use'?

that's an easy one to answer, it's because they knew nothing about my problem.

GP's tend to know a tiny bit about quite a few things, and can diagnose basic stuff, but beyond that I've not had much encouragment. A big part of it is a lack of sincerity, compassion and care, plus any sort of willingness to be educated further on things they dont understand.
I can sort of get that, they are only human too and have their own probems. I'm sure I would meet the right doc eventually if I kept on searching.

Didn't mean to thank this generalisation.

Have another read, I wasnt generalising. My words were 'I am yet to meet a GP who is worth more that £20k a year, yet alone 300k.'.

I'm sure good docs are out there somewhere.

The problem is that people dont understand how little GPs do. Most of their work could be better done with more specialist nurses.

    LOL.

    How little?

And people don't understand this? Do you know what GP's do? I mean really know?

It's FAR more than just seeing patients.

Either you are a hypocondriac, therefore you will always think the doc is wrong.

Or, you assume that medicine is an exact science.

    Or both.

I used to be a bit of a hypocondriac, stressing over the little things as many folk do. Then I got something wrong with me which actually was quite a big deal and the little things were put in there place.

Medicine certainly isnt an exact science, far from it. there is so much that nobody understands and there is a heck of a lot of guessing work. In fact I was quite shocked at how little so many things are understood when I had to investigate them myself.

It's kind of annoying that some people get paid such huge sums of money to do that guessing though.

No public servant should be earning £300K per year. Gordon Brown doesn't even get that.

No wonder the country owes £700 billion or whatever, the Labour party throws money about like confetti.

I agree, but don't worry about it too much because 99.9% of them don't. The average salary for a GP is just over £100k.

My GP should change his name by deed poll to Doctor Dolittle. He gets 2 hours for lunch everyday with 3 hours for lunch on a Wednesday!

A day's work would kill half of them!

Of course they get £10 bonus for every swine flu shot they give
As an investor, you know that any kind of investment opportunity has its risks, and investing in Stocks or Precious Metals is highly speculative. All of the content I post is for informational purposes only.

The author, Kevin Troudeau, who has for years been subjected to massive attacks and censure from the pharmaceutical industries, Food and Drugs Administration and various other authorities, states that all illness and disease is caused by:

    1) Toxins in the body
    2) Nutritional deficiencies
    3) Electromagnetic chaos
    4) Mental and emotional stress
What on earth is electromagnetic chaos?

If there is one single thing that annoys me (and I'm pretty laid back), it's holistic / non-evidence based medicine.

Edit: The author's page on Wiki is funny: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Trudeau#Legal_proceedings

He has an offerng called "How to Make $10,000 per Month as a Certified Memory Master".

    Right come on then.

    Explain.

What do you mean by lunch?

Do you mean the time between the morning and afternoon session?

£5.25 actually. They are paying nurses, who give the shot. Thousands had to do overtime when the vaccine came out. They had to store them also, which in many cases, required leasing, or buying, medical refridgerators.

This thread is literllay full of people with absolutely no clue.
