Saw an advisor in Barclays, walked away with my a/c no and sort code and was able to use the account before the card arrived.

When Metrobank open they will be issuing a permanent card on the spot, how is that for customer service. Visa and Mastercard allowed the facility a couple of years back but I had never heard of it being used outside of the US of A until now. Mind you I dont think the first branch is open until April, plus you have to be in London.

Thanks for the recommendation guys. I decided to go for the LTSB account.

Worrying thing is, i haven't recieved an email notifying me of anything.

Anyone who applyed for an LTSB account online, recieved any type of email? Isn't that normal procedure to send an email of some sort? Also, how many days did it take for the first letter to arrive through post? I applied on Sunday morning. Hopefully i get something soon.

    Thanks again for the help!

We didn't get an email either but received the paperwork within 5 days and within a week of applying on line for a LloydsTSB Classic with Vantage had registered for online banking and received the necessary User ID and was up and running - so go for it!:j
