Student Loan Debt - Articles??

Hi there,

I've been reading through the posts on this site for a while now, great site!!!

Anyway, i've yet to find any articles on student loans. There are over 5 million people in the UK who have a student loan and these are on average well over £10k.

It came as a great surprise to me when I got my first statement through from the Student Loans Company to see the monthly interest and many other students are often confused by their loans.

Does anyone else reckon its time for Martin to write an indepth piece on student loans. Probably won't happen as there are no paid links concerning student loans so this site won't make any money from it.

Thanks,

Darrell

First of all there already is an article on student funding, which includes student loans, on the site http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1093359151,9441, and it is currently in the process of being updated for this year - to coincide with the new student bank accounts article.

The reason I've never written a full article on loans is that there is no choice, there is one loan product, you cannot cut the cost of it by going to a different loan agency - the SLC is the only option for this type of loan.

As for your final paragraph, I find it a rather offensive slur, I've never operated the site or my work that way. Just in the student sector alone there are three articles Student bank accounts, career development loands, student funding, and graduate accounts (which is being republished after extensive research next week) - none of which have or have ever had any paid links.

I don't work the site like that - and never have - may I ask that you read How the Site is Financed, before making such slurs. And also as a wee hint, if you want to request that I write an article and dedicate research to doing so, human nature dictates perhaps not a good idea to insult me within the request.

I'd like to see an article about Student loans. I have an old style one, and I've found that they seem determined to con me, charge me and lie to me at every opportunity. I am currently looking for a legal defence for my not supplying my bank details, as I suspect that. "well they remove random amounts of my money at random times without permission" won't stack up. But they're not getting my bank details.

And I appreciate the way this site is paid for.
