You lied to him about the service history of the car: - there WAS no history, history is written, not verbal diarrhoea.
The buyer believed and trusted you, but you betrayed that trust by telling him a lie in order to help persuade him to part with his money. - there is no trust, I didn't trust him or know him. Trust needs to be built.
"The guy got a bargain" - he didn't buy what you led him to believe he was buying. - he bought a car that would have cost £1500 more from a dealer. Bargain!
People like you give genuine and honest private sellers a bad name.
