there have been two or three instances where someone has asked for help and I've spent ages typing out a long PM to them to assist but they havent bothered to say "Thanks"
Is it so hard to just type a quick reply?

I agree that it is disappointing but perhaps they do not know how to reply to you or else it has been lost in the recent shuffle.
Thank you from me just for generally being helpful."This site is addictive!"

I don't wish to sound rude but, surely, if it's a response to a question on the boards and it takes a goodly long answer, wouldn't you simply be better off putting it as a reply to the thread instead of a PM? That way, others would benefit from your sage advice
But yes, I do think that if they have fathomed out the PM system then they should have the common courtesy of saying thank you and letting you know your time, effort and thoughtfulness towards them is appreciated.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I count thanks as a bonus, and don't go looking or expecting one.
Though to tell you the truth, I'm the type who finds being thanked embarrasing ?0 -
Bridie - are you sure they received them or you might not have received a PM back, i was having bother with the old site in the last few weeks when i typed a reply and it didn't post. This happened to me on threads not sure about PMs so sorry if it was me.
