Hi,
I am thinking of buying a monthly phone from 3, the main reason is to use skype chat.
However, just wondering if anyone has experiences with using skype chat on 3. Will it be slower or much slower than using skype on windows?

Many Thanks

Jerry

3 are terrible - esp. their network coverage and customer service!!! I'd say stay well away going by my own experience last year and the many other horror stories I have heard. If you google "problems with 3" you'll find out what problems they seem to have (repeatedly).

    Hi,

I know that but I think 3 is the only one support free skype chat and call. Something means quite a lot for me.

    Many Thanks

We are a family of four all of whom use Skype on a daily basis on our 3 phones. We also have Skype as our home landline and a few of our relatives use Skype also both in the UK and abroad. Skype works very well for us.

What l like is how my family member who lives in Europe can call me on the mobile (via Skype) and we can chat for no cost.

I will say however that on some days you may notice a slight delay in respect of replies from other parties when using Skype chat, it may not be as instant as msn messenger but just may be a few seconds behind.

When reading people issues of Skypes forums you will notice that most of thise with problems have been the same people trying to boost/change Skypes setting to get more out of it, we have just left it alone and hence it works very well for us.

Both me & the OH bought skype handsets a while ago to take advantage of the free skype bits, after a couple of months we had to leave the phones were terrible & the skype quality was anything from poor to damn unusable and this is based in liverpool.....not to say though sometime in the future we "might" give it another go

talking over skype on the mobiles has been great, no complaints. My friend has 3as well and her line keeps cutting out when using a normal 3 phonecall, when she uses skype to talk it doesnt cut out, not sure why that is.

I suppose with the mixed feedback, best not to invest in an expensive phone and give it a go with a free sim
