It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Thanks LMC, at least I know now to ask for it with plenty of room for milk to dilute it! Sister had to fill her cup about half full of sugar to make it palatable!

    Welcome Bookworm and other newbies/lurkers.

Bookworm, have you seen the thread in the diary section about books? In theory we're supposed to be stopping or at least reducing book buying, but in practice we seem to be getting more ideas for what to read...

No I haven't read the thread on books Ames, this is the first time I've actually "talked" to anyone as my daughter posts on here regularly and I don't want to cramp her space or make her feel in any way unable to chat freely :). That sounds bad, we actually get on wonderfully and are extremely close but I'm conscious of not encroaching on her patch lol.

Book-wise, well I must confess to having spent a considerable amount on Amazon this last year or so, but having been housebound due to illness has meant I've been obliged to shop online. I've also used Amazon and other online outlets for reduced price clothes, dvds (never pay full price) and for various art/craft items etc. A previous foray into the library home delivery service resulted in a pile of books I had already read although I did recently try it again and luckily got about 8 fresh titles!! woohoo :D. I used to enjoy a rummage on bookstalls in markets etc, charity shops are fine if they are wheelchair accessible - that limits the choice of outlets I'm afraid. Same as grocery shopping, it's either online or rely on hubby to get what we need and that can be more expensive when he comes home with his "unmissable bargains!" Hopefully within the next month or two I will have the joy of being able to take a couple of steps again to go from bed to wheelchair to car....car to wheelchair to shops! ;) I promise to be good and do more window shopping than actual buying hehehehe

I do keep a fair percentage of my books and re-read them every so often, depending on author and content. Others I am happy to pass on to friends or to charity shops (still feel weak when I remember my daughter telling me I had to thin out my books and she disappeared to one of the charity shops with about 300 paperbacks!!! It was like losing a limb lolol). Going to have to be strong-minded anyway as we will be moving from a 3 bed house to a much smaller 2 bed bungalow and just won't have storage space. I keep telling myself "less is more"......lol
